Steep learning curve
This week I completed the third edit of the book "Residents of Romiley Road" and I began to think about formatting it. It was at this point that I realised that I wished I had done this before I began. Different sections of each chapter need to be formatted in different ways and I found that my double indents looked ridiculously large in paperback. So I have been laboriously checking every section of every chapter to ensure that everything looks the correct size and is justified.
In other news I ordered the ISBNs so as soon as I get round to making a front and back cover I can get that in place. Spending money on ISBNs was one of those moments when I realised that I really had to publish the book. The thought of holding it in my hands was exciting, and will hopefully get me through the tediousness of formatting.
I made a decision about the illustrations - they're all going in the bin. I had been using a drawing tablet to make digital art of some of the key places in the book but I am not an artist and although they are fine for putting on the website, I shall leave them out of the book.
